5 Fun things you can do with your Bridal Party before the Wedding | Heather Marshall Photography | Wedding Tips

In the hours leading up to your wedding day (and by that, we mean 2-3 days before), it’s totally understandable that the tensions may be a bit high as you’re making sure that you have every last detail taken care of. Add to that all of the emotions that come with seeing family members and friends as they arrive for the ceremony and we’re sure you could use a few hours to just hang out and relax.
For some, they would consider the wedding rehearsal dinner to be an opportunity to chill out; however, our advice is to actually get everyone together to do something that is totally non-wedding related.
If you’re interested in exploring some fun things that you can do with your bridal party before your wedding day, we’ve got a list of five great ideas below:

1. Have a field day. Do you remember having field days in elementary school? Relay races, obstacle courses and other events were not only a lot of fun but also a great way to get plenty of exercise, burn a few calories and release some anxiety too. So, why not host a field day at a local park with your wedding party? You can even give out ribbons to the winners!
2.Rent out a movie theatre. Just about everyone likes spending a day at the movies. Well, if you want to be able to enjoy watching some of your favorite films with just your wedding party and guests, look for a local theatre that hosts independent films and talk to them about renting out one of their theatres for a few hours or for a day. It tends to be pretty affordable to do. Plus, you can bring the movies that you want to see.
3.Have your own karaoke party. There’s a pretty good chance that you won’t be able to get all of your favorite songs played at your wedding reception. So, why not head out to a karaoke bar in the days leading up to your wedding? That way, you and your wedding party can have a ball singing (or at least attempting to sing) some of favorite love and dance songs well into the late night hours.
4.Check out a concert. Speaking of music, in just about every city, there are concerts going on year-round. And so, another fun thing to do is to check out a live concert. If you decide to go this route, be sure to bring a camera along with you so that you can take some cool pictures that you can share with your wedding party in the thank-you cards that you send to them following your wedding day.
5.Have a picnic. Picnics are always an inexpensive activity that is calming and a great way to connect with others. It doesn’t matter if it’s spring and summer or fall and winter, you can still go outside and enjoy a meal. Just keep in mind that if it’s during the cooler seasons that you pack up some soup and hot cocoa along with your sandwiches and fruit.

As you can see, there are all kinds of fun ways to unwind with your wedding party and guests. So make the time to do it in the days before your wedding day. You, and them, will be so glad that you did!
